{DANCE}

So, obviously, the following video has very little lyrical merit, and about as much depth as you might expect from a 9-year-old, but i LOVE how this little girl is IN. HER. BODY. How her young breath is enlivening every cell of this being as she moves and sings with all her "ensouled body", as Tara Owens has it in Embracing the Body.

Also - who doesn't need to whip their hair back and forth sometimes?

now - find some music, and DANCE.

feel every muscle, the wind against your skin created by your motion. find yourself in the music, in the kinetic connection with your soul. intuit every cell of your embodied self as it moves through space and time - let it be a microcosm of presence in this movement, this moment.

and then, maybe even dance touching another embodied one - a kid or a friend or a lover. there are as many dances as there are bodies. explore and play and find all of *yours*.

XOXO {jamie}

i whipped my hair back and forth to Gungor's Let it Go this afternoon (which was also the song i listened to as i started creating my dreads a year and a half ago, after dancing under the full moon and Los Angeles starlight - which is to say: the full moon.)
